Chiropractors

Chiropractors are concerned with the framework of bones and muscles that support the body known as the musculoskeletal system. When there is a problem in the musculoskeletal system, a misalignment in the spine may occur which can cause pressure on the nerves in our bodies. Some problems of the musculoskeletal system can be caused by accidents, stress, lack of exercise, poor posture, illness and even every day wear and tear.

The aim of Chiropractic is to ensure that the joints of the spine are aligned and moving freely using the Chiropractic adjustment to allow the nerves to work at their optimum.

Chiropractors provide care for patients of all ages, who present with a range of acute and chronic conditions. As well as advice about self-help, exercise, diet and lifestyle, chiropractors often provide support for pain management, sports injuries and active rehabilitation.

Chiropractic is the 3rd largest health care profession in the world, behind conventional medicine and Dentistry. Chiropractic is a primary health care profession, which means you don’t need a referral from your GP and chiropractors are often the first contact point for a variety of health issues. Chiropractors are trained in making diagnoses, treatment, and the prevention of many conditions as well as being trained in radiology (can diagnose from x-rays) and radiography (can take x-rays).

All chiropractors in the UK have to be a member of the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). The GCC regulates all chiropractors in the UK to protect the public and to maintain high standards of chiropractic care and education within the UK. All our chiropractors at Capital Chiropractic are members of the GCC.
